High Food Prices Poem by Phyllis Strong

High Food Prices

Dear Africa, please send America bags of rice.

Exercise 30 minutes per day... I’m too weak!

Water is filling.

Okay God, we’ll fast.

Eat your fruit of the spirit; because you can’t afford to buy fruit.

Cigarette smokers can go cold turkey; we have to go no turkey.

Americans are getting good at math; divide 1 chicken breast into 5 pieces.

Take grapes off the vine before weighing; you can’t eat the vine.

30 percent of Americans are obese,64 percent are overweight;
Thank you cheap foods and value menus.

Greg, thanks for your comment. It cost us more to eat food that’s good for us. Foods that cost less have the HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, SUGAR, SODIUM NITRITE, HYDROGENATED OILS, FATS, SALT, SALT AND MORE SALT. The foods that don’t have these things, the “ALL NATURAL” or sugar free, fat free, no sodium nitrite and so on; usually cost more.
