I Am Poem by Emma Woods

I Am

To say that I'll see you again
Is a fate no one can know
Because of the time we spent
And because you left me alone
You were the first whom I fell in love with
And the first ever person to hurt me
And now that I know your true colours
I'd like to say you mean nothing
But I can't
T'was a priviledge to say that I knew you
But now I wish I did not
Because of the hurt that you've caused me
Because you showed me stone rock
You were a little more than different
And that's just what I wanted
I'd like to say I was happy
That you were everything I needed
But I can't
I won't
Because you weren't even there when I needed you most
And I know you never cared in the slightest
Because you were too content on your frequent overdose
To even try to know what I wanted
I don't know where you are but do you still remember
How cold you were towards me like the weather in November
And do you know it's a year this month since you gave me the truth
And I'd like to say I knew you once but my dear I'm over you
'Cuz I can
And I do
I am
