I Imagine Your Heart

Rating: 5.0

I imagine your heart.
If we were to cut you open and see your heart not just in the physical form but every element of your soul in order to understand what God had deposited in you.
To see how you came to being the women we know today as "the fearless Winnie".
I imagine your heart as I try to understand what it takes for a mother to sacrifice, hugs, kisses and walking your children to school.
I imagine the profound love for life's purpose and humanity thatmade you endure the pain you lived through.
I imagine your heart as a little girl, what your mother & father must taught you about womanhood that made you defiant to all the system and structures that strongly preached what you can and can't be.
What was it about your life that made you develop such an enormous love for your people?
Without a doubt your selflessness proves that you were and area god.
A real epiphany of what it means to be God breathed.
You have proven to the world that God is indeed a woman and that angels live among us.
I imagine what it would have been like to meet you, which part of your rich history your eyes would tell.
Which chapter of your life would mean the most to you and why.
I imagine if you knew what you meant to every black child and what you did for our future.
I wonder if you understood the intensity of the dignity you instilled in our lives as black women.
Did you know that because of your courage we became courageous?
Did you know that your life watered confidence to thousands across the continent?
Did you know that all that you were lives in us and even death could not silence you because your spirit lives through us?
I wonder if you knew that we never took for granted your sacrifices and life.
Even though I can sit here today and wonder what it would have been like to share a conversation and a meal with you,
I imagine not your love for your people because your life was and is a clear picture of what love is about.
Thank you Mama Nomzamo Winnie Madikizela Mandela.
