I Just Can'T! Poem by Barry Van Allen

I want to really bad,
but, I just can't,
and I know that you shouldn't either,
and that is as tough as life can get,
... out here on the internet.

I need to walk away,
because, I am smarter than that,
... and so are you!

I must walk away, I say...
I have to - - -
I have to walk away today!
... but, I don't want to.

There is nothing but my brain,
that tells me this is right,
too many listen to the foolish heart,
and end up in the wrong place.

It just happened with a foreigner,
that what you needed, sounded right...
What exactly were you looking for?
that you couldn't find in your own life?

I want to really bad, but can't,
and want to keep you as a friend,
it is not that we made love for real,
or anything like that...

Why don't those words sound right?
Where is that damned instruction book,
... to life?
