If I Could Poem by Susan Sybenga

If I Could

If I could touch your face,
And kiss your lips.
If your heart was a place,
Into which I could slip.

If I could hear your voice,
Just whisper my name.
If you said, “you’re my choice”,
I would feel no shame.

If you were with me,
Life would be sublime.
If I could just be free,
And turn back time.
