If I Were A Musician Poem by Saucy Elmo

If I Were A Musician

If I were a musician,
I’d kidnap you.
You’ll be my key signature,
Telling me what notes to play,
But not before you tell me:
“Watch out for the accidentals along the way! ”
You be the melody,
And when you least expect it,
I’ll be your harmony.
Decrescendo bit by bit…
You’ll be my tempo,
Telling me to go fast,
Or take it slow.
You’ll be the keys beneath my fingers.
As I play, and in my thoughts,
You linger.
My trills are my heartbeat,
That’s racing fast,
When our eyes meet.
You can play on my heartstrings,
Longer than any fermata.
With a catchier tune,
Than “Hakuna Matata”.
I’ll sing from the rooftops,
In my alto voice.
Glad that out of everyone else,
I was your only choice.
You play 1st part,
And I’ll play second.
Forever will you be in my heart.
So yeah, if I were a musician,
I’d kidnap you.
