Hope gives in to longing thought,
of all desires that I've sought.
A wanton heart might now be caught,
if this be love, that you have brought.
Can love..hope..grow where pain abides;
Where doubt and fear are justified?
I willingly throw both arms wide,
if faith can bring you to my side.
Give in! give in! My heart cries out,
For once find out what loves about.
These walls I've built so strong and stout,
like Jericho, fall at your shout.
A newborn babe, my soul lies bare;
vulnerable to trap and snare.
I gladly place all in your care.
If this be love...that we would share.

Nice poem Perry. Have you made a mistake in the last verse: 'my sould'? or is it me?
I willingly throw both arms wide, if faith can bring you to my side. These walls I've built so strong and stout, like Jericho, fall at your shout.....if this be love, then we should share it......... thank u dear poet. a very fine poem well worded and meaningful. tony
I like the rhyme pattern of the poem. Love is a positive emotion and should be encouraged and nurtured on its arrival to blossom. A lovely poem well articulated and nicely penned. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
What a beautiful poem, so full of emotion. Love the reference to the Walls of Jericho falling or surrendering like a heart in love.
I gladly place all in your care. If this be love...that we would share. I enjoy this verse...beautifully rhythm poem! !
