If You Met God Poem by Randy McClave

If You Met God

If you met God what would you say
Would you explain to him why you did not pray,
Or would you instead questionably look upon his wrist
Then fall on your knees and say I thought you did not exist.
Would you then bow your head in shame,
Because God is true, and he knew your name.

If you met God what words would you speak
Or maybe what term or type of praise would you seek,
Would you have an apology or an excuse to give
Maybe why you never helped, gave or did forgive.
Would you explain to him why you instead did this and that,
Or would you just cry, where you fell at.

If you met God what would you whisper
So, that your thoughts would be understandably crisper,
Would you now be remorseful of what you done or did
As now those secrects are exposed, and can't be hid.
When you dolook upon God with worry and care,
Unto The Lord, what will you declare.
