Im Taking Back My Heart Poem by Mae Summerville

Im Taking Back My Heart

When you act like the devil
And your evil as hell
Why would you expect love
Youll always be ringing that bell

Yes, youll al; ways be doing it
Because, you see
The devil is a liar
And oh so very stupid

Youll just keep on and on
Dragging the next poor girl
Down with you, untill shes gone

Thank God I was smart
The ones before me werent
I wont be listed on your stupid chart

When you get there, sitting on your bed
You can read my letters
While pounding your head

I tried to love and trust you
I honestly did
But you flipped your lid

You didnt want my love
You fought me all the way
You said it with a shove

I gave you my heart
Handed it right to you
I knew I shouldnt, right from the start

Ill do like I said
I said Id always love you
but now from seperate beds

I wish you well
I sincerely do
I hope you quit ringing that bell

Im taking back my heart
You took advantage
I warned you from the start
