In A Stampede Rushing Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

In A Stampede Rushing

I had thought at one time,
We were all being cursed...
With a sudden and unstoppable,
Burst of flowing ignorance.
Until I awakened to realize...
I wasn't the only one not chasing,
The overwhelming blinding effect...
Of the color of money.
With a wish to get as much of it,
As I could get in a stampede rushing.
Or believed it controlled and ruled my life.
