Eyes closed under the dusty chandeliers
Once so bright and illuminating;
Now, hollowness and desolation is all that appears
'Hell's empty and all the devils are here', said Shakespeare
He knew, just like I, we're living the illusion of love but the reality of fear
Once so young and full of life,
Now all I have are these wasted years
And an aching body swimming in tears
Patrol,
I am being drifted in and out
Of the city lights
A dark shadow among darker shadows,
Pulling me down
~ In God I trust ~
I know that even the deepest cuts will turn into scars
~ In God I trust ~
Warm draining blood will eventually dry
~ In God I trust ~
The happiness will, somehow, be ours
~ In God I trust ~
And a new life will follow, even after the last goodbye
~ In God ~
I really like the poem until you get to the cutting part. Then you lose me completely, and I no longer can ascertain any universal theme. What you describe is not self immolation but mutilation. You are talented; seek universal archetypes and strike a balance between life and death without the self deprecation.
This is a memorable poem of hope, relying in God. Good written, Ana.
well written, we all need to believe in some greater power, but we also need to believe in our own inner strengths and the power to instigate change in our destiny.
Ana you are a magnificent poet. You have painted a haunting image of a raw, dark, struggling, hopeless soul, and that putting all your trust in God, brings one into complete harmony.

I would like to translate this poem
Beautiful. Illusion of love. Happy u r Godfearing. Often birds sans wings think they can fly. Be a diamond.
