Into My Garden Poem by Viola Grey

Into My Garden

Rating: 4.1

I can't help you now, I'm lost
within walls of deep green
blanketed on moss, soft as feathers
where I lay upon this floor.
I wandered here to escape
another day, alone, without you.
Please, don't call my name.
Each tender dropp of dew falling on me
washes unshed tears from my cheeks
caving in from the force
of trying to smile.
Please, just leave me here.
The darkness descends upon
this garden, leaving shadows as a blanket
to wrap around my weary heart
which fails to signal a beat
as a beacon.
Please, just walk away.

Your first line - 'I can't help you now ' is a gem and really speaks of filial love which is everlasting and so very demanding....your piece reminds me of my own beloved brother, and for that I thank you. We have much in common Viola. A strong and unforgettable piece. greetings from Fay.

I've spend 40 odd years wondering about what it might have been like to have a brother or sister: imagining the intensity if feeling and how such love may differ from other love. You've helped me see something about that I'd not seen before...and for me that is the sign of a great poem. Thanks, V. Tony
