Haha, yes hes very dead.The quill redundant, however it appears quite modern with the repetition of the first line in each stanza.Perhaps the americans are being ironic?

The redundancy of IS IT POSSIBLE-IS IT POSSIBLE? Sets up the IT IS POSSIBLE-ALL IS POSSIBLE counter point as a well-reasoned denouement.
Yes it is possible to be highly esteemed then fall from favour like a flash of lightning with a single incident real or imagined being cause of the fall. All is indeed possible when the human heart is an instrument of judgement.
Everything is possible though doubts are there I think!
Our resident experts have pronounced on God and man in their usual far-fetched manner, which we all appreciate for their humor and insight. The 16th century was a 'time of unsettlement, ' and Wyatt's poem 'makes one really wonder about higher ups in leadership' (leaders) ? How about the 20th century and the millions of people lost in wars and famines? I'd say that century had more people 'high and low' whose wariness about sudden change was truly warranted. Have you noticed a 'high-voltage artistic output' in modern times?
When I lived in London I used to like looking at the Tudor protraits in the National Gallery. It struck me how wary and suspicious many of the faces were. It was indeed a time for high and low to be wary of sudden changes. It was a time of unsettlement in many ways - perhaps it was that which produced such a high-voltage artistic output.
Poem seems to capture the diverse nature of man. From loftiness to baseness. At the end it seems to intone GODS ways, ' that all things are possible with GOD ' Then making light of marriage. I found the first part funny capturing the big debate but in short time. Makes one really wonder about higher ups in leadership
As I have suggested before with 'The Poem of the Day', perhaps before making a comment one should read the poet's 'biography' and find out if the poet is dead. The probability of that is quite high. From the few weeks that I've been on PH, most of the 'Poem(s) of the Day' have been written by those who have joined the 'Dead Poet's Society'.
