It is Joy
It is joy to watch a new believer
Have an appetite for God
As old things they once held too
As with old clothes are shed
A hunger and thirst for righteousness
A yearning now to pray
A joy they never had before
On exhibition every day
A desire to read the Bible
As well as to share the Word
A new desire with a passion for souls
For those who've never heard
An honest admission of wrong doing
A desire to make things right
Genuine evidence of a changed life
Now walking in the Light
An unashamed declaration
"I know whom I have believed"
A witness now to family and friends
Lord Jesus they received
Still a little rough on the edges
But God will smooth it over
Now some clay in the Potter's hand
Awaiting a Divine makeover
A Bible as constant Companion
A rustling of pages there
Checking out... What saith the Lord
Finding each treasure there
And now in the confidence of faith
A saved soul satisfied
Blessed assuredly in their heart
Their need has been supplied
And sin exposed for what it is
A transgression against the Lord
An earnestness now to live
According to His Word
And church attendancetop priority
Happy for Sunday to come
Eager to hear the preacher's message
In regards to Christ the Son
If that doesn't make you happy
I know not what else could do
To see a life transformed by God
Is a blessing through and through
So thank you Lord for each new believer
A testimony to your grace
Yes there's really a difference when
Salvation has taken place
