It Never Ends Poem by Connor Brennan

It Never Ends

I know that feeling of depression and pain
The pain that makes you mentally insane
You have to turn to temporary happiness
You’re not the only one who’s endured this
I feel the pain each and everyday
That horrible pain that just won’t go away
You take another and get high
Hope that maybe this time you die
This is wrong it’s just not the way
You must fight this day by day
Tears will come like April rain
Depression driving you insane
It gets to hard the blade looks great
Slow down this is not your fate
You can’t take the closest door
Keep walking there are more
Drugs and drink make it better
But only for a while not forever
Your heart is black but not with hate
Blackened by this unclean slate
It piles up to the sky
So you take another to get high
But now you’re in way to deep
Making promises you just can’t keep
Tell yourself now I’ll quit
Then you take just a little bit
Thinking you and the knife coincide
You decide to commit suicide
