It Shall Not End Poem by victoria driver

It Shall Not End

What is it called
when two hearts
beat in unison?
How do you stop
the gut-wrenching pain
when they lie and cheat?
Oh, fateful disease
that threatens to engulf me:
the sorrow they call love.

When shall the rain end?
Now it hides my tears,
but they freeze upon my face,
and mirror my frozen heart.
Sharp shards of ice shoot
from my eyes, as I see
her walk down the street/
It shall not stop. Shall not cease.

Shall not end.
