It's hard to free
When you have to keep others peace.
When others happiness is the priority.
It's hard to be free
When you have to repress yourself,
When you have to walk on eggshells.
It's hard to be free
When one mistake could take it all,
When the reality hits.
When your purpose here is not to be happy but,
to make others that way.
It's hard to be free
Knowing all you'll feel is pain,
Because being a healer is all you are.
It's hard to be free
When the pain never lets you go,
When it shadows your every move,
Your every thought and sensation.
It's hard to be free
When from the very day you came into the world,
You were destined for pain,
To carry your own,
And all those about.
It's hard to be free
When you find all you need but, the damage was already done.
When the best thing is to be
But pain hovers about.
It's hard to be free
When distance hurts,
And darkness spreads.
It's hard to be free
When love takes hold
But the broken perseveres.
It's hard to be free
When all you ever want is to be happy,
But the world that is has other plans.
