Jealousy Is The Nature Of The Beast...
Jealousy Is The Nature Of The Beast.
Don't tell me I don't know how you feel
I couldn't possibly feel that need.
Like a thousand hidden voices
whispering deep inside your head
telling you
this is who you are.
You fight repression
the growing need, rising like a wave
prodding, teasing, prickling in your mind
but the whispers get louder
till they are screaming out now.
The only voice you hear
the only voice you want to hear
and you belong to this shadow
you become a dark passenger to it
inevitably you will succumb.
To fight against it is fatal
as it will overpower you into submission
the addiction, the need to overcome
the willpower to succeed,
demise with every single thought.
As the power of the wave
engulfs you
rendering you somewhat helpless
as jealousy is the nature's beast.

Jealousy ruined relationship. It creates fire and burnt..but somehow when you are jealous it means you love the person so much it sounds cute. But when it's too much it's irritating :)
Jealousy Is The Nature Of The Beast.' yes and sadly there is often a beastly reason for jealousy, the reality of betrayal is a bitter blow below the belt
You have written one of your best poems here, Annette. As Robert says it builds to a fine crescendo. This one has to go to my favourites' list. It's as good as anything as I have read in a long time

Really good poem, jealousy is always a negative emotion and a sign of unhappiness but we can outgrow and move beyond so things when we are happy.
Very well expressed poem Annette. Our darkest emotions have an energy that always tries to take us down. This fight with in us is the most challenging fight. Thank you for sharing.
