I set out to write something with a twist
But, I am afraid I totally missed the mark on this

Empty
Empty
Empty
Is my mind?

I sit here and gaze
Dogged at the keyboard
Glancing at the screen
As if the poem will write itself

Over and over
I read the few lines I have
Repeating them in my head, listening
to them, bounce across an echo

Sighing, as if inspiration will come soon
The day has left the room, and with it
my focus, my motivation, my mind
