Just The Journey Poem by Nitya Kannan

Just The Journey

The journey teaches you
Matters more than you think
And you think of the destination
How much this fools you
Your eyes are watching
Of course they were open
You would say so
But something was missing
You only thought of its end
Not knowing the pleasures on the way
You missed the stones and gravel
The churning curves would lend
Sometimes you passed the stark
Barren zone which sent a shiver
Then came thundering rivers
Sparkling lifting from the dark
Sometimes an errieness
A frightening thought
Sweat trickling by the ears
You can feel the craziness
Therein lies the heights
To which your journey can go
Depths to which it can dive down
Showing you most amazing sights
As the mind tries to grab hold
You begin to understand
How much beauty with vastness
What stories the ways told.
