I am telling you a funny story
Of when I reached a wonderland
That was so full of snow
On those high mountains
That was nature's very glory
I began to frolic
Laugh and shout with glee
As I spotted the ski
But when they fitted those boots
So tight I began to panic
Maybe it was the cold
So I listened to my guide
He showed me how
To first walk slow
Then pushing the ski be bold
A one a two and a three
Yipee I got going
Walked first then speeded
The smooth slippery snow beneath
Lifted the heavyweight me
I felt a momentary joy
I was up in the air
Then it rudely shook me
Where was I going
Like a wild flying toy
My landing was a spectacle
As crude a crash could be
Legs twisted on the ground
Hands flailing wildly
The ski attempt was a debacle
With mouth tasting snow
Hair tussled about
My red nose all crinkled
Curious and funny eyes
Stared at my pathetic show
A kid laughed when he saw
Aunty fell Aunty fell
That's what he yelled
I was quite annoyed
Seeing his silly guffaw
A big fat yak nearby shook
His head as he snorted
Bells on his neck tinkled
My guide came to my rescue
Giving me a forlorn look
To get up on my feet
Was heavy effort indeed
Skis came in the way
Tripping me too much
Struggling I managed this feat
I set myself free
From those cumbersome skis
Now that was excitement enough
I decided for a full day
And I safely sipped my hot tea
