Knowing The Time To Act (By St. Thiruvalluvar) Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Knowing The Time To Act (By St. Thiruvalluvar)

481.A crow overcomes an owl in the day.
And a king needs fitting time to beat the foe in the fray.
482.Living by acting at the right season is the cord
to bind the wealth to himself and guard.
483.Is there anything difficult to do
for those who do crafts with right tools at right time?
484.If they brood on right time and cut deals in fitting place
can conquer the world if they crave.
485.Those who want to hold the world under their sway
wait for the opportune moment, unperturbed.
486.The mighty restrain themselves waiting for the right time
as a fighting ram backs off to spring again and butt.
487.The wise don’t fly into a rage all of a sudden.
They bide their time nursing their wrath within.
488.Be submissive to the foe till his time of doom comes.
When the destined time strikes, down his head falls.
489.When the rare chance you get,
do the deeds at once, left undone in the past.
490.Be restrained like the crane biding time.
When time favours, snap at the prey at one go.
