La Dolce Vita Poem by Frank Sheehan

La Dolce Vita

It just doesn't
happen in Italy
It's here
in America too!

Living the good life
taking it easy
to savor things,
just wander.

Silky ice cream
on sultry
summer nights,
a bottle of wine

over dinner
indulging on a good
American burger with fries.
A few beers

while watching sports.
Enjoying existence
while time slows down
giving you perspectives

that boggle
the imagination.

Yes, things seem to happen this way. When we think about things, time slows down. When we live them, they speed up. Both come with age. I liked the poem.
