Last Will Poem by Bireswar Halder

Last Will

None on this earth is that blessed, none is completely perfect
A human being is good, but always dogged by streaks of shadows
I waited for your love and generosity, a hand of sympathy
But that was never to be, in return you gave only hatred and humiliation

Please don't come to my sickbed while I'll lie still in coma
Please don't come to show false sympathy to a dying person
Love fled you long back from your heart, please do not come
Do not let me remember the false masks of the earth in the last hour.

Please don't stand before my dead body for a moment
And shed no tears anymore like a crocodile
Avoid offering a bouquet on my still body
All those who remain will see mask on your face

Please don't touch my dead body with the murky hand
And don't show any respect to me as an untouchable man
Let my body turn into ashes in the flames of the pyre
Perhaps my soul will fly peacefully in your absence.

Please don't convene any condolence for my death
It will be ridiculous to maintain silence for peace of departed soul
People will laugh for your artificial obituary message
As you have no humanity and full of hatred.

Please remember people respect you out of fear
As you have power, influence, wealth and more
A day will surely come and you will understand
That only selfless love can win the hearts of millions.
