Lest Anyone Be Deceived Poem by Ben Gieske

Lest Anyone Be Deceived

Rating: 3.1

She lets her leaves fall,
A slip of running colors
Pooling on the firmament,

Watches with relief
Breezes blowing the collage away,
The wrinkled, fading face.

No one notices her nakedness,
A shadow in the winter sun,
A silhouette in the moon-lit night.

How good its feels
Being nothing for a season,
Becoming color blind,

Showing a different side
No one sees,
Only stars, no blushes from the sun.

Ah, awakening to the budding
Which all will notice
Welcoming the new spring,

The explosion of energy
And ornamentation
promising a fruitful harvest.

But, what if no one takes
And there is no giving?
