Loneliness Of Being Human Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Loneliness Of Being Human

Arizona sky above, blue everywhere you look, not
a single cloud floating in it's soothing realms.

Watching it's beauty with fascination, feeling
the peace of heaven wrapping itself around my mind,
heart and soul.

Lonely, walking through this mind and finding the
solace needed to survive the loneliness of being
human throughout this life.

This is a gem of a poem and its priceless quality is not limited to its truth - there is also a beauty of expression, simply eloquent, compressed to the point that we are beyond tears, there is only that rueful awareness that the sadness is endemic and it it weren't caused by this thing it would be caused by that thing - there's no way out of this irreducible sadness of being human. It's not an emotion in our consciousness, it is our consciousness. And if someday we encounter ETs with a happy-go-lucky consciousness, they will see us as heroic in our pride of being.
