Long Distance Poem by Bernard Eseo

Long Distance

Hi, I'll start walking
Through the streets and highways
So just stop talking
I don't care if it takes a hundred days

Hey, I'll start rowing
Through an ocean and few seas
You better be patient for I'm going
Because you have my keys

Yes, the keys to my heart.
I long to see who holds
My ever fragile part
What used to be stone-cold.

I close my eyes today
And say to my soul
"A few more steps away,
I'll reach my goal"

I promise I'd be back
Just keep on hanging through
Don't worry, I'm on track
I'm coming, baby. I love you.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
There's this girl who's just so far away from me. A mere 4000 miles away and I just love her. No matter the distance may be. No matter how long I'll be far away, I promised I'll be back and be there for her.

dedicated to GGJPP.

With love from,
