Looking For God Poem by Eric Cockrell

Looking For God

you speak of looking for God...
my child, God is not lost!
it is we who are lost....
before we can find God...

we have to first find ourselves!
then, and only then,
we will be able to know
the God within us....
and in every living being

around us....
it is not God who is blind...
it is us! .... my child,
open your eyes...

salvation is as near
as your own soul!

true, so often we look to others for answers, when we should look inside ourselves.nice one.

Amen brother! Thomas Merton once said: ' theology really happens in relations between people'... and that's the point I believe you are extending here, that God is not an organized religion, God is alive within us, find God there by relating to each other personally. GREAT poem pal.

And stay away from organized religion- a mess made only by man- I might add! Wonderful effect here.
