Lost Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Lost

Lost
lost in the drunkenness of the
temporal power
lost
in the sad waters of pining
lost
in the Oceans where discoveries
are to be made
wait to be made
in waters!

You suggest there is a creative force at work in the element of WATER which will eventually give forth some new life.Goethe's FAUST PART TWO details in very complex and challenging but brilliant poetry just that scenario. It's the CLASSICAL WALPURGIS NIGHT which parallels the Romantic Movement Walpurgis Night of Part One which Goethe later rejected. I can only read FAUST in English translation but the superior rarefied poetry makes me a want-to-be-a-believer in such a cosmic process of redeeming the world. And you? a believer in regeneration? One who hopes for it? (The violent, revenge-filled fantasy of cosmic redemption in the last book of the Christian bible I totally reject. I would rather the universe gradually thins out and dissolves that endure such a fate. See Prospero's speech in THE TEMPEST in Act IV: the speech that ends WE ARE SUCH STUFF AS DREAMS ARE MADE OF.)
