Love Lies Bleeding Poem by Milo Lone Elk

Love Lies Bleeding

Rating: 4.5

The quiet moon glistens
on my cold shivering sweat,
Awakened
from this dream of you
In a room full of emptiness

The mountain stars are fading
though still shining in my eyes
with tormented thoughts
I stand here defeated
Locked away in this
heart-shaped box of mine

By the window
my silhouette embraces
Its lonely shadow in the dark
Alone again,
I'm lost in pieces
because I can't seem to
Get you out of my head

Your smile still lingers
in the back of my mind
Smiling with love
I'm trapped in my heart
Beckoning for you,
not letting go
of what I can't seem to hide

A hemorrhage of you
I needed you the most
The memories are sweet
but they are tearing me apart

Filled with anger
I punch the windowsill
Looking ahead
I whispered to myself
Leave me alone
because my Silver,
'I cant take these
thoughts of you anymore'

I'm sorry for leaving you
why did I left you crying
It's not what I wanted
And I'll do anything
to get you back here tonight

Love lies bleeding
As your beautiful eyes
continue to wear me down
I'm a martyr to your love,
The guilt etches
the painful shining stars above
Here in this
empty heart inside

'If I ever hurt you,
it's not what I wanted'
For all that I've wronged,
I want you to know
that I'm sorry for what I've done
And I'll wait here, everlong
All alone, like a stone
until one day
Maybe I can see you again
