Love Of Living Poem by Manonton Dalan

Love Of Living

yes, i could hear flapping wings up a tree
melodic chirping welcoming a new day
gentle breeze caressing cresting waves
as it splash to shore; like opening fan ribs
i know, i am not alone waiting; fall of tears
who’s hoping, praying, swaying away fears

i lit up a candle and started to pray
i mumbled and my voice deserted me
with muffled moan i whisper your name
i beg heaven that this is but a dream
but longer days without you by my side
i’m convince you’ve drifted to other side

i let out a scream deep in my mind
tears filled my eyes, i’m almost blind
what can i do now besides comfort myself
i wish i could have more power to give help
too weak to face your sudden parting
i always remember our love of living
