Lunch-Break >>> Poem by Manonton Dalan

Lunch-Break >>>

young shoot of pine leaves
appearing, a shiny green
water drops forming on tips
some frozen, crystal clear
birds are picking on them
they're curiously thirsty

I am counting my steps up
short fifty paces from road
overlooking a boats slip,
a big new seaside restaurant
lunchtime, cars are coming
seagulls are watching them
looking for give-away chip
am just watching sailboats
