Man-Devil Poem by Babalola Augustine Adeola

Man-Devil

If you find him,
The encourager who encouraged you
Admist warnings.
Fanning up your flame of passion,
If you find him...

The guy who dragged you to the club,
Made you mad with coloured waters,
Causing your mind to flee your body?
Only to get back and find your temple defiled.
If you find him...

The one who gave you poverty,
Who made you gamble and not candle
Who made you hate your teacher
And envy the stupid, foolish intelligent Alakada
If you find him...

Or is she a lady?
Who made you eat all our soup in one night,
Made you destroy our farms,
and pollute the pond
If you find her?

The perpetrators of all these acts,
The devil that be-devils us,
The me in me that lacked control,
The us in us who failed to plan
If you find them...

If you find them,
Let me know
Let me know
Let me know...
