Mask And Sword Poem by Xavier Larracuente

Mask And Sword

The sword and mask are not often associated,
But 'tis the mask that lets man wield his sword, and the sword that coaxes the man not to take off the mask,
Similar to Damocles' the sword soon weighs above the mans head,
'Move wrong and I'll fall it says',
Far from natural is it to gamble,
The mask accidentally fell one day, and the sword did indeed fall...
Not onto his neck but the shadows before the man...
Hopefully he will walk without mask nor sword now...
