The Heart's Gamble Poem by Xavier Larracuente

The Heart's Gamble

A warm hurricane greets me,
It's winds lack all trace of subtlety,
Smells I cant name assault my senses,
Breaching all of my defenses,
I drop my guard as petals rush past me,
Each dancing through the air with unknown destination,
Now I smile,
Knowing that whichever petal I catch,
I'll still be happy,
Because that's how caring for someone works.
