May Be Modest Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

May Be Modest

The future was bleak
We could not speak
For days we remained starved
Under great restraint, we behaved

We thought many times
To overcome number of times
It was real challenge
We both set and urged no one

Past made us strong
With resolve not to go wrong
Forget about past
And live in present

Present has been made somewhat nice
We live with good promises
Never repent or curse
But discuss

We know future
It is very near
We may be modest
And get the best
