Murmur In The Trees Poem by Ben Gieske

Murmur In The Trees

Rating: 3.0

murmur in the trees
white swans in a tranquil swim
early azure mist

early evening sounds
orchids bend over the bridge
catching water songs

slow flowing waters
breaking surface in its song
this happy green frog

a distance apart
loneliness a joyless path
shadows edging closer

under the shadows
fishes school in eagerness
sounds walking the bridge

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

These five haiku poems are simply gorgeous under the the umbrella of the murmuring trees. Each one tells a creative story of the stunning role they play in the title. I simply love 'orchids bend over the bridge catching water song.' 'a distance apart, loneliness and joyless path, shadows edging close' and 'sounds walking the bridge'. Haiku is supposed to leave the reader in perfect wonderment and this is what this has done for me Ben. As I go for walks on the River Torrens and there is a bridge I will think of murmur in the trees as I am walking.... 10 Karin Anderson
