I look out in my garden of celestial dreams
And I discover things don't exist as it seems
I reach out for what isn't really there
Stretching out much further than I ever dare
Only seeing shadows that are far beyond arms reach
I find there are lessons that I just cannot teach
My lonely eyes are wide open with a starry glaze
But they get all fogged up within a misty haze
My solace keeps me awake for days on end
To the point of my mind going through a bend
So tired so much so that I just can't sleep
And I hope that my soul stays mine to keep
It all exists somewhere I'm sure that I know
Whiter than white, whiter than snow
Further than far and even further still
An emptier than empty place that I just cannot fill
Along this journey I continue to go
Swept along in a tideless ebb and flow
With no point or an end in sight
A wingless bird on a windless flight
A single hope glistens on the horizon's edge
A simple symbol of hope, a single pledge
Something kept in my darkness that always grows
It is the hope of love for a single solitary blue velvet rose…
