My empty nest**

Why does sadness surrounds me?

Why are my eyes wet with tears?

Why is joy absent from my heart?

Why emptiness abides

where there once was abundance?

With each departure part of me departed

part i can not retrieve
.
Gone forever in a basket

were memories are gathered

collecting dust and cobwebs.

Revisited only by ponderings.

When the heart is yearning;

to touch, to hold, to see, to hear;

the cry, the laughter,

the yelling, the pleading, the silence.
Every you were you were redy to live
to go with your new found love,
to mouve to your new place,
to go away

i was happy for you

just my heart was bleeding

knowing it had to let you go

to travel your own journey

For i had my time

and i did my best

Now, i know you must do the rest.

Your calling was stronger

then my holding.

And i don't want to cling

i want you to have the best of everything.

Touchy and moving poetry….a jilt…well jolt is difficult…life will move on the wings of sad and happy memories…here you’ve portrayed flip side of life…an element fab favorite of poets…heart breakingly [and brakingly] becomes a poetic savory…… thanks for sharing…

A Family can Blossom by opening the cage door
Letting the Darlings Fly, Making their Own Way
in Life.To Prove to you that You 'Did Get It Right'
When thought 'What Shall We Do For The Best'
Well Did You? Now at Last! Your Time as a Great Poet Has Arrived.
Welcome Aboard Honey...We Said You Always 'Had It In You'
Now you have time to Prove It...And You Do....Time and Time Again. +10
Kind Regards Philip.....Midnight -2am....Time to Myself....Golden. (Report) Reply

Ah, Milica - my daughter went to Melbourne a few years ago and that was how I felt...the poem captures that feeling so well... I wonder if this is your situation too
or if you are just singing, as a poet, for all of us... (Report) Reply
