My Love I Remember, Poem by StaceyLeigh Olner

I remember when we first met,
On a boring school day 2006,
My eyes met you,
I couldn’t stop smiling,
When you looked at me,
I’d go all shy,
I couldn’t take my eyes off of you,
And i noticed you couldn’t take them off me either,
But neither of us was brave enough to say anything.

I remember all of those letters we wrote,
And in one of those many letters you asked me out,
And of course i said yes,
I would have been a fool not to,
As you’re amazing.

I remember hanging out at the park,
And tickling you with that long piece of grass,
And we both nearly fell off the swings,
Trying to get each other.
Also hiding behind that building,
Cuddling up with each other to keep warm,
On those cold nights,
You even offered me your jacket.

I remember going to the leisure centre,
And having a picnic with you and a few others,
And you falling into that pool,
And trying to blame me or Tom,
Also me getting wacked in the head,
With that swing- that hurt.

I also remember holding hands,
Under the tables in class with you,
Even though everyone knew,
I would say we were so in love back then,
i would have come to meet you whatever the weather,
as it would mean spending more time with you.

I also remember the sad part,
Where it had to be over between us,
Because of your dad,
That really hurt,
I cried myself to sleep each night,
Carried a fake smile each day,
I tried to move on,
Even tried another relationship,
But that failed,
As i could only think of you,
I missed those times,


But after four years,
I think fate was just testing us,
For all of that time,
As after that long hard four years,
You are now my special baby once again,
But this time round it is alot better,
Your dad aint around,
And we are engaged,

Oh i love you baby,
forever and always will you be mine?
Never leave me for whatever reason?
As i am here to stay,
I can’t bear the thought,
Of loosing you again.
