My Thoughts On The War. Poem by Kristin Loves You

My Thoughts On The War.

it hurts to see you go
i didn't even know any of you
the growing numbers start to show
the younger ones hardly have a clue
'They're protecting America', is the response I get when I ask why
18 and up is the age wanted, the younger the better
little do they know they won't survive
old enough they thought of the law of only him, suddenly it's him and her
killing our men& now women
the news hardly shows true actuality
in person, never again will we get the chance to ask 'How've you been? '
next time we see them
which may be never
the lights will be dim
in a casket, they'll pretend it was for the better
never will i understand
how they can leave their wives and children
things never go as planned
off they go to the country they will be killed in
leaving as tears roll down the faces of innocent onlookers
most have hope that they'll come home
killing children dressed and taught to act as soldiers
around and around they will roam
until suddenly their lives flash before their eyes
as bombs go off
families realize the truth and start to cry
generals and leaders with faces filled with scoff
it's way too late when reality becomes actuality
our men and women are dying off one by one
