My Undone Sleep Poem by Kesav Venkat Easwaran

My Undone Sleep

Rating: 5.0

The moon was not at its best
As I landed on its helm
It remained unfriendly rude-
No warmth, no welcome

I moved down the long ladder
Fell back on my stream
What if I lose my undone sleep?
I would get more dreams

To have such metaphors in a poem is a dream come true. Love it, Kesav!

An instant wake-up poem out of a dream at midnight I think...using even such a moment is the skill of a true poet...an enjoyable write Kesav

A unique depiction of the moon. Usually we are drawn to the moon for its beauty and warmth but as someone said 'maybe the moon is beautiful because it is far'.
