My Universe Poem by Cris Ben

My Universe

My life has been a collection of years
In which dwell boxed thoughts, jarred voices and wrapped reveries
All this time, I have lived days with the rest of the world
Yet, night by night, I have undressed myself
This collage of norms, dogmas and laws the society have sewn to all of us
My bed is the comfort of a dark sullen closet
To date and ere long be a temple of my unspoken dreams and supplications;
A sanctuary where my anger, joy and sorrow freely wander and live;
A nation of constant battles with my thoughts until everything explodes blank peace;
And a harbor, a home after these daily voyages for survival.
But how amusing it is that by just one peculiar day, things has started to change
You, my darling, has starting to become this faith that listens to these prayers and dreams
Slowly giving them verity and life;
This vast shelter to these myriad nature of emotions in every corner of my heart;
This subtle army that helps me conquer these insecurities, anxieties and making me know I am more than good enough;
These arms that can hold and celebrate Me and my whole universe.
