Night High Poem by Abigail Hauschild

Night High

I'm getting lost to the pull of the darkness
To this summer night humming with possibilities
My sleek black car cutting through the moonlight
The radio playing to the tune of my heart
Feeling invincible as I sing out to the stars
Night shadows tempt me towards a great perhaps
Daring me to have an adventure, urging me on
'Don't stop driving' they whisper
So I roll all the windows down soaking in the night
And stick my hand out to feel the ripples of anticipation in the wind
I'm high on moonlight breathing wishes made on stars
