Nightmare To Dawn On. Poem by Maura Hunt

You want to wake up from this nightmare,
It’s haunted you for far too long.
You lie underneath your blankets,
As the nightmare grows inside of you.

You know you’re weak,
And you can’t stand it.
Here’s another nightmare
For you to dawn on.

You’ve learned that you can’t escape this life you lead,
No amount of pain will stabilize you.
You’re headed toward nowhere real fast
But you’re stuck under your blanket, refusing to give in to your fate.
