No Peace Poem by Ben Gieske

No Peace

Rating: 5.0

The cat knows
to curl in the sunlight,
seize the moment.

The mouse knows
to live in the shadows
every moment.

There is no sharing
when one seeks
what the other avoids.

Then comes the night.
There will be no peace.

Your third paragraph carries a profound meaning not only in the animal world. I like the philosophical touch you lace your poems with. Another 10.

This is clever, funny and thoughtful. Your use of contrasting ideas (shadow/sunlight and so on) is so appropriate to your subject. Good use of a dificult form that I've never even experimented with - I'm inspired to try!
