Not Listening Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Not Listening

Talking incessantly going on around me, but I'm not listening.
Going deeper into my interior self, I become calmer with every moment.
Joy settling in my mind, spreading itself thin so as not to let the sadness get too heavy.
Thinking of all the years I've lived, appreciating the good times while trying to forget the bad.
