Obsessed With Change Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Obsessed With Change

I adore you more,
Than you do yourself.
Despite the ways,
How quick you are...
To find others to impress.
Who have yet accepted you,
Just for being...
The you I love.

And this I do,
Regardless of the times...
I have to remind myself,
Which one of you,
I had adored and admired most.
Than the ones you introduce,
To me on a daily basis to come and go.
Before I had the chance,
To adapt and accept...
Your preference to satisfy,
This obsession you have...
For ongoing change.

"Why do you keep staring at me?
You're making me nervous."

I'm just wondering,
If you're coming to stay?
And if I should voice my approval,
Would it make a difference.

"You talk to me,
As if I am a stranger."

Really?

"Yes!
REALLY! "

Well,
I wish you wouldn't...

"You wish I wouldn't what? "

I was about to wish for something,
I might spend the rest of my life...
Regretting.

HELLO..
STRANGER.
Wassup? How you doin'?
With yo fine self.

"Will you stop being honest,
All the time.
At least lie to me once in awhile."
