Oh Lord, Shower Thy Kindness Poem by Bireswar Halder

Oh Lord, Shower Thy Kindness

Rating: 5.0

The muddy and slippery path makes me very scared
And always I count my steps, cautious and careful,
In the dark night I am to walk all through my path alone
Danger stalks each moment, is it testing my strength?

Illusion disrupts my journey and I look back
For a pinch of peace, across the whole life I rush everywhere
Worldly pleasures prompted me from my real goal
Many a mistake I committed to sate sensual pleasures.

No doubt, everything happens because of my ignorance
The sufferings and miseries were all results of misdeeds
Frequent fallings blinded sense of self-realization
What a senseless peculiar life I spent thinking of self interests!

It seems worldly pleasures keep me away from you
I am unfortunate to obtain your true love and compassion
Now I understand real peace prevails only inside me
Only sensual organs can never give an eternal peace.

Oh Lord, let me free myself from aversions of my mind
Let me free myself from all sorts of cravings of my heart
Give me strength to be more equanimous at all times
Being merciful please forgive me, gifting me a compassionate love.

Walking in muddy and slippery path means walking in path of ignorance. But we need to walk in path of right, light and knowledge. Only God shows us such path. God understands the words of heart and soul. He removes sins and pain. We love him and surrender before him. An amazing philosophy is well expressed in this nice poem...10
