Old Skool Love Poem by Khethiwe Ndlovu

Old Skool Love

Rating: 4.5

Honey, give me that old school love
White and pure like a beautiful dove
The kind of love that was blessed from above
Like back in the day
where love meant so much more than just being called bae.
I just want my heart to race
at the sight of you, my angel.
Where I'd be the only girl you chase
because I'd be the only one you need, my precious.

Let's rewind to the days where
I'd literally worry about the clothes I should wear,
trying on outfit after outfit because for you, I do care.
Let's catch a cab or train and travel to absolutely nowhere
cause nowhere is where I want to be, as long as I am with you my dear.
I want to spend hours lost in your eyes.
My beloved, when I'm with you time just flies.

My one and only, take my hand and tell me sweet somethings.
Take a chance on me and on us and see what this love brings.
Whisper in my ear with your soothing voice
re-establishing that choosing to love you was my best choice.
Gently hold me by the waiste
and give me just a small taste
of this divine love we share
simply because my dearest, this love we share is ultimately rare.

Let's go on picnics, or late night walks on the beach.
Oh my love, you've elevated me, now I'm far out of reach.
Sweetheart, forget about those boys, you need not worry about them
because out of all of them, you are my precious gem.
My heart's desire
Your touch, the way you treat me always ignites the spark, causing fires

That old school love
where we spend hours over the TELEphone
talking about absolutely nothing, in our zone
Hug me so tightly
Steal my heart real quietly.
Baby it's yours
Make me forget I've ever been hurt.
Taking thousands of pictures, but not to post online
but to show our kids, that falling and staying in love with one person is fine.

Grab coffee, brunch, lunch or dinner
for the reason that every second with you makes me feel like a winner.
Or how about I just cater to you, cook all of my best meals,
experience a lady's, no a woman's touch, priceless, heavenly and real
Watch a game or two, do everything you adore
Make you happy, laugh or smile and so much more

How much I love you? Infinitely like the stars
Apple of my eye, you've made me forget about all my scars

You make me feel as if my heart will burst, from all this love, boo.
Darling you make me want to write songs and poems about you.
Or climb the world's highest mountain,
or go out and just kiss in the rain.
Calling you my superman would be a downgrade,
you're so much more than that babe.

Give me that old school love,
beautiful and pure like a dove, or vast as the skies above
Red, fragile and delicate like an evening rose
Romeo and Juliet have nothing on us, they don't even come close

I love how you didn't refer to any pick up line
or wait till Valentine's
to creep into my heart and make me fall for you
Like night creeps into the sunset presenting it with a moon.
You crept into my heart playing a melodious tune.
Waiting for me, to say, that I love you too.
